3. Jesus and his disciples tithed. T /False

Now let’s think about this. When did the Old Covenant and its Law end? When did animal sacrifices cease? At the cross.

So that means that as long as Jesus was alive, he was under the Old Covenant Law, which included tithing. So does that mean he tithed?

Well, what was his occupation?
Firstly, a carpenter/stone mason – then, a travelling teacher.
People holding these occupations were not liable to tithe.

Then did his disciples tithe? Probably not the ones we know about – think about their occupations:
Peter, Andrew, James & John – all fishermen
Matthew – a tax-collector
Luke – a doctor
Even the Apostle Paul – a tentmaker
None of these would ever have tithed on their regular income. (Instead, they would have given offerings.)
